Debate on Catalonia in Poland
DIPLOCAT – Next 10 December at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow
The Public Diplomacy Council of Catalonia (DIPLOCAT) and the Centre for European Studies from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow organize next 10 December the conference “Self-determination Processes: Challenge or Opportunity for the EU?”. The event will be opened by Zdzisław Mach, Vice-Rector’s Proxy for Internationalisation of the Centre for European Studies, and Albert Royo, Secretary General of DIPLOCAT.
The first round table will be composed of Albert Royo and Michal Natorski, Marie Curie Research Fellow at the University of Liège and Visiting Professor at the College of Europe, Campus Natolin, who will explain the Catalan process to the Polish audience.
The second part of the conference will be a debate about self-determination processes from the EU perspective. Matters such as internal enlargement, economic challenges, security matters and the concept of sovereignty will be discussed. This panel-discussion will gather Héctor López-Bofill, Asociate Professor of Constitutional Law at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona; Fernando Guirao, Jean Monnet Professor of History at the University Pompeu Fabra; Artur Gruszczak, Associate Professor of International Relations at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow; and Joanna Wacławska-Orzechowski, Associate Professor of the Institute of European Studies at the Jagiellonian University.
